USB-C opens a new era of portable projectors

The new portable projector has a built-in intelligent system, has wireless networking functions such as WIFI, and can realize projection screen projection through voice control. It also supports wireless connection of portable terminals such as iPhone, iPad, iMac, various Android phones, tablets, etc. to realize wireless push display. Of course, a new USB-C interface is indispensable for a compact and portable projector. The USB-C interface, which integrates high-speed data transmission and up to 100W power transmission, has become the best choice for a new generation of portable projector power interface. Projection technology is currently mainly divided into two categories: DLP and LCoS. Among them, the core technology of DLP is in the hands of TI, and Texas Instruments (TI) can provide DigitMicromirrorDevice (DMD) chip products. The principle is mainly to switch the light through the control of the micro-mirror, so as to realize the precise control of the color scale and the gray scale. On the small DMD chip, there are nearly a million small mirrors that are smaller than a human hair. Compared with DLP technology, LCoS (LiquidCrystalon Silicon) chip technology, its main imaging principle is similar to liquid crystal LCD, but also through the micro-circuit control voltage to twist the liquid crystal, through the control of the polarized light of the liquid crystal, the light can be switched, thus Realize color scale and gray scale. Both technologies have their own advantages and disadvantages. In general, DLP technology currently occupies the mainstream position in the market. With technological innovation, DLP technology has more advantages in terms of image digital processing, seamless image delay, and long life.


The portable projector adopts the USB-C interface, and the data and power transmission can be realized at the same time through the USB-C interface. This interface can completely replace the traditional USB-A, Mirco-B, HDMI and DC interfaces, making the product more concise and beautiful. HUSB238 has the five major characteristics of USB-IF certification, small size, low power consumption, high reliability and strong functions.



In addition to supporting the UFP function HUSB238, Huinengtai also introduced the USB-CPDPHY chip HUSB311, which is mainly used for bidirectional USBPDDRP occasions. HUSB311 can be extended to support DataRoleSwap and PowerRoleSwap protocol commands, suitable for power switching and data communication switching products.
