Flexible printed circuits are often adopted in precise instrument panels, under-hood controls, circuits to be concealed within the headliner of the cabin, and also in ABS systems, and this application can be often seen in the automotive industry. The flexible printed circuits are commonly found in industrial and medical devices. And many interconnections are basically required in a compact mode package in such industrial and medical apparatus.

However, in computer peripherals, the flexible printed circuits are generally used on the moving print head of printers, and to connect signals to the moving arm carrying the read or write heads of disk drives. Consumer electronics devices make full use of flexible printed circuits, as can be seen in the above-mentioned Apple desktop computer.

The flexible solar cells have been developed for powering satellites. These cells are light in weight, also they can be both rolled up for launch and easily unfolded, making them a good match for the application. This is a brand new design which might cause a stir around the competitive market.
